You place an order and make payment via the Find the Words website. You will be prompted to fill in a short questionnaire about your poem subject. Fill in as much detail about your loved ones – warts and all! You then submit your questionnaire to me and I will get to work. I will issue a first draft of your poem to you via email for approval. I will allow for minor edits if required, then I will issue the final version in your chosen format – either digital only, typewritten and posted or typewritten and framed and posted.

Please allow up to 2 weeks from placing your order. How quickly I can complete your poem depends upon my capacity and the nature of the order but if you have a very pressing timeframe let me know and I can try my best to accommodate – very polite queue jumpers only please.

It can be stressful thinking of a thoughtful gift for your nearest and dearest that won’t just be destined to gather dust in a drawer. A personalised poem is a fun and joyous way to spread the love and gift something special that is really worth treasuring. It is make even more special and unique that it is typed on my vintage Olivetti typewriter.

I offer 1 round of editing where I can make some minor tweaks to the poem if there are specific elements that don’t quite hit the mark. Once you are happy, I will issue the final version in your chosen format. Due to the bespoke nature of the product and the time taken to create your poems, I don’t offer refunds except in exceptional cases (though I haven’t had an unhappy customer yet!). As all my poems are typed on my vintage typewriter, they may be ever so slightly imperfect but that is what makes them special!

Pretty much! I offer specific options on the website for popular occasions such as birthdays and weddings but the joy of a bespoke poetry writing service is that I can create whatever you like (as long as it is not dark and satanic!) I love a challenge so feel free to get in touch if you are looking for something a little out of the box.

Payment is taken securely when you place an order on the website.

Absolutely! For a truly hassle-free gift, let me do the hard work for you and send your poem beautifully typewritten, framed, wrapped and ready to go. If you would prefer to do your own thing, I provide a digital only option. As standard, I type my poems out in black ink on my vintage Olivetti typewriter (please see images and my Instagram page for examples of what this looks like).

I offer three standard frame options - a simple black frame, a simple oak effect frame or if you are feeling super fancy, a black metal and glass frame. Please get in touch if you would like something different and I’ll see what I can do.

Postage and packaging to all UK addresses is not included in the price and is added separately at the checkout.

Yes, once your poem is completed, I will not share it publicly for marketing purposes or otherwise without your express permission to do so. I would however be delighted if you would be kind enough to let me share examples on my website or even better, share the lucky recipients’ reactions on social media.

Every now and then I need to press pause on receiving new orders to allow me to fulfil existing orders. I never want to compromise on the quality of my work and at these busy times, you will temporarily be unable to order but you can enter your details and I will notify you straight away when I’m back up and running.
